What does it cost to get a new website?

What does it cost to get a new website?

Your business website is extremely important for a number of reasons. First of all, it reflects your brand. A poor website is going to make your business appear unprofessional. Secondly, your website is the foundation for all of your online

marketing efforts, which means that your inbound marketing campaigns will sink or swim based on the effectiveness of your website. Keeping this in mind, you may want to strongly consider investing in a website redesign.

Investing in a Website Redesign

Depending on the extent of your website redesign, it can cost you anywhere from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars. This all depends on who you get to redesign your website, how big your website is and how much work needs to be done.

The cheapest way to redesign your business website is to do it yourself. Even then, it can range in cost from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. It's also worth mentioning that designing a website isn't easy. It's not something that you can learn to do in the space of an afternoon. Not only will it require a lot of your personal time, but there's going to be a lot more trial and error involved as you attempt to get your site the way you want it, which can end up costing you even more money.

If you do decide to do it yourself, there are many pre-existing templates that you can use to get started; however, unless you build your site from scratch, your customization options will be extremely limited and your site won't look much different than a lot of the sites that are out there, making it difficult to stand out from the pack.

Using a freelancer

For a website design that has more custom features, you could hire a freelance web designer. Freelancers (sometimes) have the know-how and experience required to build a website from the ground up - and should be able to implement all of the features that you request. Typically, from experience, freelance web designers are just starting out in the industry and may not have the complete breadth of knowledge that a more experienced full-time web developer or design agency will.

Freelancers typically cost between $1,000 and $15,000+ depending on what needs to be done. It can take them a lot longer as well since they may not have the experience and are possible learning as they go. Additionally, you have to be careful about who you hire or your site could have some flaws built into it. Not to mention that most freelancers may not have any marketing insight to offer outside of their design knowledge. Remember, you get what you pay for.

Hiring an agency

Hiring an agency is generally the best way to go if you have the budget. Agencies will charge between $5,000 and $40,000 + (and anywhere in between) for a website, but they will offer a lot more than just a simple website redesign. Agencies spend a lot of time on ensuring high-quality user experience, refined website navigation, conversion rate optimization, and content.

Basically, they won't just help you design a professional looking website that will reflect positively on your brand and that's user-friendly, but they will make sure that your site is set is actually functional and well planned out. Additionally, agencies have way more resources than freelancers and will be able to implement more unique features and accurately test your website to ensure optimal performance as well.

Hiring an agency to redesign your business website may be the most expensive option, but it will pay off in the long run. For information on redesigning your business website, contact us at EnvisionIT Solutions today.
