There's never been a better time to look into the benefits of the cloud. Businesses that have traditionally not used remote workers may not have explored cloud technology before or know the capabilities.   The present time has forced many companies to implement a remote setup. Even if this is temporary, it's beneficial to explore the advantages of technology and services hosted in the cloud that can help with business automation. If you're still sitting on the sidelines, here are three great reasons that will have you embracing the cloud.  ## 1. Hardware Cost Savings Using cloud technologies is a huge benefit when you have a limited budget. Costs are based on your use of the cloud and the [features of your subscription](https://blog.envisionitsolutions.com/cloud-services).    On location hardware for storage and systems management is excellent for big companies. They can afford to invest in the software, hardware, along with required maintenance. Many businesses are being more resourceful to minimize their IT costs by leveraging cloud platforms. ## 2. Fewer Complications in Collaborations [Cloud collaborations require](https://blog.envisionitsolutions.com/why-you-should-not-be-afraid-of-the-cloud)less oversight from IT, and the tools make solutions more accessible to employees. These platforms provide more stability over time, and the vendor usually manages any upgrades needed.   Related Post: [Why you should not be afraid of the cloud](https://blog.envisionitsolutions.com/why-you-should-not-be-afraid-of-the-cloud) [![afraid-of-the-cloud](https://blog.envisionitsolutions.com/hs-fs/hubfs/blog-image-files/afraid-of-the-cloud.jpg?width=650&name=afraid-of-the-cloud.jpg)](https://blog.envisionitsolutions.com/why-you-should-not-be-afraid-of-the-cloud)   Business owners now have more time for higher priorities, like marketing and sales.    By authorizing diverse groups of people to be able to meet and exchange information virtually, cloud collaboration is enhanced significantly. These capabilities also help to improve customer service, and the time needed for marketing is reduced substantially. ## 3. Support for Remote Workers This capability is the big one that you never thought you'd need. With more workers [doing their jobs from home](https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurelfarrer/2020/02/12/top-5-benefits-of-remote-work-for-companies/#4c28bb3616c8), this is a crucial point to note.   Implementing paperless automation keeps you in the loop and in-charge even while workers are not in the office.    Giving remote workers the [tools they need](https://www.computerworld.com/article/3412267/the-best-enterprise-collaboration-software.html#slide1) to stay on top of the work they need to do is essential. Using the cloud can allow remote employees to collaborate digitally, make revisions to documents while processing information in real-time.   Watch our YouTube video about this topic: [![on-premise-vs-cloud-server](https://blog.envisionitsolutions.com/hs-fs/hubfs/on-premise-vs-cloud-server.jpg?width=650&name=on-premise-vs-cloud-server.jpg)](https://youtu.be/8o88VwWZxpE)   ## The Benefits of the Cloud There are other considerations to consider as well; for example, cloud storage is more secure than paper storage. Data security has taken a hit in recent times, so the good news is firms like Envision IT Solutions are taking additional steps to keep everyone's data safe.   Keeping data safe in the cloud begins with data encryption.    What's more, is that cloud data is more complicated to steal than the data stored on your local server.   Today, your remote workers are using personal devices with local data that isn't encrypted, leaving your confidential business data vulnerable to ransomware or other threats.  ## What's Next Cloud technology has come a long way in the last few years. They are now more reliable, safe and their security is constantly being upgraded. Besides, cloud servers provide better security and offer better performance than internal, local servers.
